This rare car was taken to R. A. Snively Designs for a replacement convertible top. Since there were very few of these made in 1936 and even fewer left today, a readily available top did not exist. Bob needed to pattern and fabricate the top using a dark chocolate brown Stayfast canvas material. The top now compliments the beautiful art deco inspired details of this chocolate-n-cream colored DeSoto.
There are many art deco designs found throughout the 1936 DeSoto. From the flowing lines of the grille in front to the winged logo on the trunk, one can only dream of the excitement of ownership when it was new!
Once the top was finished, there was only one more detail the car needed and that was a new top boot. Bob fabricated one in matching canvas that really adds a sporty feel to the classic.
